the flight of the wikaris
      words by fireball
Don't fly too far from here, son.
On a cold XXXXXXXX night, Wikaris took flight.
His father said don't do that, don't put our people through that.
Don't be too crazy, you son of a gun
Wikaris was brazen, daddy's admonitions didn't faze him.
With which he enraptured young and old, who were fearful of the cold
Don't lose your head, out on the run
Wikaris would not end the race, one day he set out into space.
Earth seemed small and far, as he soared out toward the stars...
Don't fly too far from here, son.
Out where there's a breeze
Make your manwings freeze
Don't fly too far from the sun.
proud of his thick furry skin
Flew out over the snow where nobody else would go
… and flew back again.
You should be happy enough where you are
Happy just to be, to dream and smile, not always push just one more mile
Your wings can only carry you so far
Out in the wild weather
Makes for birds of a frozen feather
Don't fly too far from the sun.
He flew higher and further every day
Though it chilled him to the bone, he brought back from the unknown
exotic tales from the far far away
His father said, stop putting on a show.
Your wings are flesh and bone, leave those far off lands alone.
There are places your wings weren't meant to go
Out beyond Earth's magnetism
Ice up your mechanism
Don't fly too far from the sun.
He flew higher ever higher in the skies,
Using bottled oxygen, away from earth away from sun
Till he could no longer hear the warning cries.
The wings of Wikaris slowly turned to ice
He tried to shake them back and forth, but he crashed and burned up north.
For his adventures he finally paid the price.
Out where there's a breeze
Make your manwings freeze
Don't fly too far from the sun.
