The Night Country
for february 2010, fireball wrote a bunch of words and sent them out to farflung folks to put them to music. seventeen songs came back from that venture. fireball added a little bit to many of the songs, with mixed results. here is information about the songs.

my friends in the southlands hear the songs I write
something in the hours
th' northern nighttime may just end too soon
black the words i'm writing just to sing 'em to the moon
colors of the day
seem long ago and far... but hey...
i have waded through the shadow towards the grey.
and they say a brighter dawn is coming soon.

I send them the snows and the cold winter wind
and I count the hours
one by one
that cannot be denied
th' candle in the window
th' midnight dark outside
white on my horizon, take these sleepless words to croon
thinking of the day
while this place keeps the light at bay
I have hidden here beyond the sceptered sway
and they say that it'll all play out in june
hot with songs of sunshine, memories of the moon
and I will sing another february tune
