say hello to diomede
      music done first by fireball
That you ever found me is a miracle
There are so many things I never did teach you.
It was seventeen years ago today
It was one decision that still makes no sense
Say hello to Diomede.
Wind and the sea keep us away.
I refuse to feel sorry for myself
Light a candle in your window.
If I can't see you well I'll end out here.
Say hello to Diomede.
Light a candle in your window.

Your letters to me were so lyrical
I jumped on the first boat that I found
Off to a life that water surrounds.... that water surrounds.
I can almost see you but I cannot reach you.
Wondering which light is yours.
Because unlike the waves I can't reach the shore... I can't reach the shore.
I reached the mainland looking for pay
Thought I'd make us all a better life
But my eyes were blinded by the city lights... the city lights.
That decade and a half behind the fence
I won't ask if I can be forgiven
You made me feel my life is worth living... is worth living.
Say hello to family.
Say hello.
I'm thinking of what I'm going to say.
It kills me to think your mother is gone,
Because my own time is short, I don't have long... I don't have long.
Too long I kept my love on a shelf
If I die out here it would be too soon
I wanted so badly to heal the wounds... to heal the wounds.
Send me a sign. Send me a sign.
Light a candle.
Don't cry, babe, don't you fear.
I gave all I had to see you again.
I just can't go back to the mainland... to the mainland.
Say hello to family.
Say hello.
Send me a sign. Send me a sign.
